In times of uncertainty, media needs more than resilience — it needs new energy and inspiration, especially in exile. The Harriman Institute at Columbia University in partnership with the Columbia Journalism School and JX Fund invites independent exiled media from Azerbaijan, Belarus and Russia to apply for the Klebnikov Global Journalism Fellowship 2026. Media can nominate up to two staff members to participate in a series of exclusive online exchange opportunities.

The program honors the memory of Paul Klebnikov, the American journalist and editor of Forbes Russia who was assassinated in Moscow in 2004.

Meet and discuss with inspiring colleagues from media outlets such as New York TimesPolitico or The New Yorker!
